Hot Rope

The "Hot Rope" is very spicy bread. The chillies, black pepper and other spices give it a hot, but pleasant taste. I admit it isn't the right thing for mollycoddles but all others will enjoy it...
It comes in two shapes: either round or braided. It is brownish and soft inside and has a crisp bread crust decorated with chillies flakes. It is ideal for barbecue or as a side dish to goulash or soups. Tip: put it on the barbecue, then put butter, some slices of fresh garlic and a pinch of salt on it. Yum! This bread lasts up to five days. Just keep it in a wooden bread box or a bread crock. Don't put it into a plastic bag or in the fridge. Too much moisture made the bread too soft and promotes the development of mildew. Ingredients: dark rye flour, wheat wholemeal flour, filtered water, salt, black pepper, chilli, chilli flakes.
